Interspire Shopping Cart

by Dave Beck

Interspire Shopping Cart was once the number one up-and-coming shopping cart solution for small and medium businesses, however over the past couple of years the level of service and availability of timely software updates has deteriorated to a point where I no longer recommend anybody use Interspire shopping cart and suggest that you consider alternatives.

Interspire Shopping Cart Modules

Below you will find a number of free modules that create additional functionality for the Interspire shopping cart. I am continuing to support these modules for the time being but may make an announcement via this website and e-mail newsletter I plan to cease ongoing support.

SEO Indexing & Canonical URL Module

Store Pickup Shipping Module

Interspire Module Notification List

If you would like to be made aware when we update or released new modules please be sure to add your name to our e-mail notification list.

Hi Dave,

I’ve installed Interspire 6.0.14 but there’s no Multi-Currency change option on the store webpage? How to enable this, so that customers from different country can change the currency from my local currency to US or EUR?

Thanking in advance for your guide.

Hi Nizam,

Sounds to me like you need to add in the SideCurrencySelector.html panel into your template structure for this to work.

Dave,

In light of the negative comments about Interspire from Interspire users on http://www.shoppingcartstrategies.com/software/cs-cart-review/ (and elsewhere), do you not think it would be a good idea to update this post, the first sentence of which could see someone sued under Trade Description legislation ? ;)

Anyone who scans this post might thing ISC is still a good option, without reading anything about Interspire’s multitude of problems.

Very good point Ken. It might be time to give the site a good once over.

Hi Dave
I wholeheartedly agree with your comments about Interspire. I had many issues when my hosting company moved my site to a new server. To get support I had to upgrade to v 6.14. I had very limited support from Interspire with all my subsequent problems – waiting up to a week for replies (if I was lucky). My latest problem is trying to update product descriptions using I.E – after getting no response from Interspire I experimented with google Chrome and found that it fixed the problem. I emailed support again and got a reply basically saying ‘known issue – use Chrome’ – thanks Interpire!

Thanks for the comment Steve (not that I’m happy there’s another dissatisfied Interspire customer among us). If only their rhetoric matched their actions!
